William (Bill) Matthews has been a philatelist for more than 60 years. He has a particular interest in the postal history of the British Commonwealth including most notably, the issues from Australia, Canada and New Zealand. However, he also has specialist interest in the postal history of Egypt, Norfolk Island, Papua New Guinea, Sarawak, Sudan and the Italian States as well as a fine collection of overprints.
Nigel Matthews has been a philatelist for more than 30 years. He has a particular interest in the postal history of the Caribbean including associated British Commonwealth countries (incl. Bahamas, Barbados, Bermuda, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Leeward Islands, Monserrat, St Lucia, St Vincent, Trinidad & Tobago, Turks & Caicos) as well as Cuba, Danish West Indies, Guadeloupe, Haiti, Dominican Republic, Martinique, Netherlands Antilles and Puerto Rico.

One of the most appealing aspects of Philately is that your collection can be based on whatever topics and scope that you choose. A collection can be defined to suit your most relevant interests and budget.
Many collections are based on the issues of specific countries but don’t let that restrict you. Collections can be based on diverse topics … from geographic regions to specific themes such as space travel, ornithology or Disney characters.
Collections may specialise in general stamp issues, omnibus issues, first day covers, postmarks, presentation packs, mainsheets etc. The permutations are almost endless.
